HOW TO WORK TOGETHER

Working with Manuka Financial

A quick breakdown of the planning process and timeline to getting started:
Step 1)
Discovery Call

A 30 - 45 minute conversation to see if we might be a good fit to work together. We’ll discuss what you’re looking for in an advisor and how we can potentially help.

Step 2)
Sign agreement, upload information

If it makes sense to move forward, we’ll send over a client agreement to review and sign, as well as a secure portal to upload your financial information and link outside investment accounts, if desired. We’ll use this portal to share documents securely throughout our relationship, and you’ll also be able to log in and view a snapshot of your current financial situation.

Step 3)
Data Gathering Meeting

Typically lasts 60 - 90 minutes. We’ll discuss where you are today and where you’re trying to get to in the future. A thorough review of your financial details, goals, concerns, and values to make sure we’ll all on the same page.

Step 4)
Financial Plan Delivery Meeting

This is an interactive meeting to review our observations and recommendations on all areas of your financial life to map out a plan moving forward. Typically lasts about 90 minutes, with a summary of the discussion points and action items provided after the meeting.

Ongoing Meetings

As part of our financial planning relationship, we regularly review and complete tasks throughout the year together:

  • January/February: Tax Summary Letter
  • Spring Update: Tax planning (review prior year tax return and begin discussing potential opportunities in the current year) and other focused topic review
  • Summer: Check-in, as needed
  • Fall: Comprehensive Financial Planning Update- Full comprehensive update to financial plan, open enrollment review (if still employed)
Tax strategy implementation (Nov - Dec)
  • Roth conversions
  • Appreciated stock gifting
  • Qualified Charitable Distributions
  • Year-End Tax Planning and Projections
  • Required Minimum Distributions
  • Tax loss and gain harvesting
